Going to head away wiht the lads for a few days in March to amsterdam. The only hostel we heard of that lets you smoke is the flying pig, but thats booked out. Is there any other relaitively cheap hostels around the red light district that let u smoke?
    Cheers

Do a search on this form using the search facility. There have been plenty of threads on this which should throw up some good information for you.

Don't give up on the flying pig.

It's only possible to book a small number of beds online, with the rest being made available (as they become free) to people who drop in (I think at 10am) each day.

If there aren't too many of you this should work out ok. If you're feeling less brave (or are arriving later in the day) you could book one night somewhere and try for the flying pig the following morning - depends on how long your going for of course.

Alternatively, there is a cheap hotel (which is more like a hostel with private rooms) on Damrak called Hotel Neutraal. It's between Central Station and the Red Light District, very close to both. Tis a bit small and grotty but could be good for the purpose.

Finally, www.bookings.nl is an excellent site that might be useful.
