Passport's out of date

    Hi guys,

My Irish passport went out of date in November and haven't renewed it just yet. I'm heading to the UK next week on business and while I know you don't need a passport to travel to and from the UK I've heard that some airlines won't accept national ID such as driving licenses. Anyone know if I'll have problems getting in and out?

Another concern, I'm submitting for my new passport tomorrow through the An Post 10-day passport express service. I've got a US Visa attached to the old passport. Do I get the old passport back with my new one or do they take the visa and attach it in the new one. Anyone know?

    Jake

    Who are you flying with?
I got into the Uk a few times with just a driver's licence when I was with Ryanair.

Actually if you just go to to the airline's website they will probably have info on Photo ID requirements in the booking section.
