    a) I have an american friend who came over who wishes to see a fully restored castle(really just not a ruin) i was wondering any suggestions in the dublin area or easy to get to by public transport? all i can think of is malahide castle
    b) She seems slightly lacklustre about Ireland more so to do with rigid schedule of visiting irish writer related landmarks etc than ireland, any ideas for something slightly different to show her or entertain her with in Dublin?
c)I know she's seen joyce related sites along with trinity/national art gallery and musuem so anything else that you can recommend would be cool.

Well if Bunratty didn't impress her then i doubt any castle would. I think that's the best representation of a castle in Ireland as many castles not in ruins are used as hotels and are thus very modernised.

That's pretty fun alright. It's a recreation of medieval dublin. It's all very tactile as you get to try on chainmail and thow balls at a guy in some stocks.

Bring her to see da mun before its all knocked down..tell her to speak loudly in her american accent an wear a bum bag or fanny pack as our american friends like to call them with all her money in it...oh and a video camera hung around her neck would add some spice....sit back and watch the fun commence!!

    Drimnagh Castle!!

On the Long Mile Road, It's really cool looking on the inside, and now completely restored to the way it looked when Jesus was alive!:p

****Gav's Super Duper trivia of the DAY*****
It's the ONLY castle in Ireland with a moat! Put that down pants and smoke it! :v:
