    Ok,
I built the following system at the weekend (my first)

    Gigabyte GA-K8NF-9
    AMD 3700+
    XFX 6800GS
    1GB Corsair Value Ram
    Maxtor Diamondmax 10 200GB SATA
    CDRW-Rom
    DVD-Rom

Now the PC boots to BIOS no bothers and I go ahead and start XP installation. I press F6 to install 3rd party drivers for the hardrive. I load the drivers from the floppy and then my keyboard dies so I can't continue the installation. If I only load the nForce controller and leave out the RAID controller I can sometimes proceed but then I'm told that windows can't detect any Harddrives!! Can anyone help?
My keyboard is USB and I have this enabled in the BIOS.

I had this before. Have you got one of them little green adapter things so you can plug the keyboard into the analog port? That should do the trick otherwise Its probably an issue with usb drivers or a bios option other usb settings needs to be looked at.

I tried that adapter alright but the keyboard wouldn't work at all then. I'll bring home an actual PS2 keyboard from work today and see if that helps. Hopefully the Maxtor - nForce issue which I read about doesn't apply to my model (6L00S0). Thanks.
