2.5" Laptop HD & USB question

    I bought a 20GB HD here on boards off someone.
    It was still in packaging and the sticker was still on it when I got it, so I'm pretty sure it is new.
    I have a spare USB 2.0 enclosure for it, but when I put it in, the disk spins and windows detects it, but doesn't assign it a drive letter...it just comes up as "USB Mass Storage device"
    Where as my other portable HD-80gb comes up as:
    "USB Mass Storage Device - Drive (H:)"

    Is this because the disk isn't formatted?

    If so, how can I format it?
    The disk spins and all.. it sounds ok...
    thanks.

    its probably coz its not formatted, use the disk management console.

    start->run->diskmgmt.msc
