Can I trust WinVNC?

I want access to my home desktop from other places, and I was planning on setting it up as a WinVNC server and forwarding the appropriate port. I'll try and use a good password, but is this a wise thing to do? Does anyone know if VNC is easily crackable or anything?

I don't have any sensitive information on my PC, but I don't want some fecker coming in and having a laugh at my expense.

Been using it for years, never had a problem, i think ultravnc offers slightly better security

Yeah it's easy to crack password if someone has local access to either
encryption of data transferred is minimal if at all.

zvnc = Zebeede + Vnc if you want to encrypt it

no idea if still developed - but you can use VNC + Zebedee or ZVNC combinations

But what you should really use is a secure tunnel / VPN

    Just wanted to reinforce this.

VNC is not secure over an unsecured network.
