    Hello All,
I've been reading all the threads and checking the web to find out about using an indoor or mini sat. dish as I cannot have a dish put on the
wall of my flat... so my question is simple. Has anyone out there tried one of these and if they worked which one. Or has anyone out there found a way of
getting free to view tv. without a convention satellite setup.

I know of an 80cm dish being used for almost 2 years inside a window (& behind a curtain) for reception of the BBC channels without any problems. A smaller dish (60/70cm) would probably have worked too.

Although in that particular case only the Horizontal channels were received when the window was closed because the dish was at an actue angle with the window pane due to the alignment of the house. Vertical channels could only be received when the window was opened - something to do with diffraction/refraction of the vertical signals by the glass.

If you own the Flat, then I'd consider just putting up a Satellite Dish and let those non sat Muppet's rot in hell, Talk about American neighbourhood type dopes where the grass must be the same height and the tulips the same colour.

If your renting then check out one of these or maybe even this Check out this page

This page especially has lots of potential, I'd say if you are intent on getting Satellite TV or Sat Broadband, you can definitely get them with out actually having a normal "Dish" per say.

Still instead of getting anything I'd erect a 2metre dish and tell those non dishers to get stuffed.

Well Gentlemen, Thank you for your thoughts.... I decided to just buy some satellite equipment and try it out. I've now got a 60 cm dish and a Strong 6130 reciever and tomorrow I will try getting the show on the road...'given that my satellite dish will be sitting on a chair rather than being fixed to a wall
    there may be some issues!!!!!
I will let you know how I get on...

    Hi again,
Just to let you know that I got my satellite system up and working. It might be of intrest to some people so let me just say that anyone out there who wants free to view but can't have a dish on an outside wall, well I've just set up my 60cm dish on a chair. It took about five minutes finding the astra 2 satellite and about a hour trying to figure out the manual for my reciever. My window has to be closed and I have two sets of curtains up and still the astra 2 is comming up on my tv clear as anything.
