    A 60cm might be possible, but for reliability, I suggest you go for 80cm dish.

    80cm or you can lose BBC World (the Actual BBC version with Teletext) when it rains.

    Maplin or www.satellite.ie

    Expect to spend around 200 or so for a single LNB system.
    You need
    * amalgamating tape
    * Two F-Connectors the correct size inner hole
    * CT100 or CT125 satellite cable
    * 80cm dish
    * Mounting bracket & pole
    * sturdy masonary bolts, not screws!
    * FTA Digital Receiver
    * Invidual signal Shielded SCART lead, NOT gold, unless the TV socket and Sat RX sockets are gold.

    Also
    * 2 x Universal LNB and 4 way Disqec Switch + bracket for 2nd LNB
    OR
    * Dual horn Monobloc
    OR
    * 3 x Universal LNB and 4 way Disqec Switch (add 28E) + brackets
    (see

    Also

    From our ICDGopedia)

    A simple Sat meter is useful too.

    Sundry tools

    Center dish and LNB on dish @19E see:

    What a nice guy, He didn't even Pimp himself.

    I'd advise www.satellite.ie I bought an 80cms Channel master back in March with the cabling and connections, it has worked a charm for me I use it for the Skydsl satellite Broadband system. But i got bored one day and locked onto both 19°East and 13°East and was able to get some good FTA channels through them onto the Internal PCI card. I also spoke on the phone with Tony when the Dish got delayed with An Post and low and behold 5mins later the Postwoman was knocking at the door. I say nothing only highly recommend them.

    Have a look out for a second hand SKY analog dish maybe a neighbour/friend has one.
    Though they are probably removed/rusted by now. Or try Anto's

    The LNB on them will only get the lower 1/2 of transponders so unless you are only after a few specific things then replace it.

    same rule for older computer memory - if you mix solder plated with gold plated then even if there are no thermocouple effects you can still get electrolytic effects and have to reseat the ram every few months or when you start getting errors.

    May I just indicate there is a Eurosat forum for these type of topics.

    Actually there isn't anything that can be discussed on Eurosat, that can't be discussed here.

    The main reason for Eurosat is to discuss non-Sky pay TV packages. We have always discussed FREE TO AIR (no card or sub needed) Satellite from everywhere here, and occasionally discussed Pay TV from non-Sky vendors.

    There has been a problem of when a non-Sky Pay TV package is mentioned of smart alecs starting into "grey" or illegal methods of payTV reception.

    There was a rash of locked threads for that reason and a few folk mistakenly thought this was a Sky only forum. It isn't and never has been.

    Non-Sky Reception
    Most people are either interested in alternative to Sky Sports Football (pay a different vendor less) or getting extra channels of specialist interest. (Well there is free porn too, but Eurosat don't discuss that either)

    There is of course the 21st Century equivalent of the 20th Century "Short Wave Listener", the Satellite enthusist that gets the free channels just because he can. There are over 1500 TV and over 1400 Radio of that kind on an 80cm motorised dish possible in Ireland.

    If someone was promoting Digital Spy Forums here what would we do?

    Or if someone did posts in Eurosat promoting other forums how would Hagar & Pal and Sparky-s think about it?
