Hard disk problem

    Hi there,

    I got a new 200 gig hard disk from Komplett the first time i went to partition the drive it came up as 200gigs now it will only recognise as 136gis, I have a nforce 4 motherboard and all the latest drivers. I have installed partition magic and it shows no hidden partition at all. I have downloaded a utility from the Maxtor site and low level formatted the drive and still nothing.

    Can anybody shed some light on the problem.

    Afaik you need 48bit LBA to access past 137 gigs... there might be a bios update available for your mobo that enables this.
    Worth a look anyhoo.

    seems really strange the motherboard is a new Gigabyte Nforce 4 SLI model you would think that this would support it, just checked again and it is showing 131gigs on the drive
