    Hi,

I am planning to go to Vegas this year. Anyone been over who can recommend a cheap time to go? ALso what price would I be looking at for 5 nights accomadation. Would I be better waiting or booking early?

    Thanks

Book early is the way to go for Vegas I think. Myself and 5 others are going Monday the 13th of March for 5 nights and 4 days, back on Sat 18th. Costing us €700 for flights and about another €400-500 for accomodation in the Flamingo. We only booked about two weeks ago and prices before Christmas were cheaper but it took us a while to get organised.

Not sure when the cheapest time to go is as there's always some mega trade shows etc driving up the price but midweek is much cheaper than weekends.
We only really checked out the strip hotels aswell, I'm sure there's much cheaper accomodation if you look for it but a few of our crowd wanted the experience of the super hotels.

Depends what your after I suppose. €1200 for the week for us.

myself and the missus got flights from LA and back with 5 nights (late march) in the MGM. for $923. at this site. www.hotwire.com was the cheapest we found.

Gman, why not go for the worldseries, things are cheaper cos its off season (officially). Too feckin hot in August! We got extremely cheap decent accom in the Gold Coast (50$ a night) which is just off the strip (easily walkable). So long as you don't mind walking through the retirement home that is their lobby (stacked full of 90 year olds on respirators, it really is the hall of the living dead as the lads will confirm!), but the rooms are fine and the price is right!

The worlds series is well worth going to see, just for the spectacle and the cash games in the other hotels are stacked with fish who are in town to gawk.

There is going to be a record number of people from Ireland there so the crack should be terrific!

    DeV.

If you're going with a couple people for longer than just a weekend, I think the best consistent value is at Hawthorn Suites. Walking distance to the Strip (just behind the Tropicana). Full kitchens (you'll get sick of the cheap buffets if you're there more than a weekend), sleeper sofas. 1br (sleeps 4) for ~$100, 2br (sleeps 6) for ~$150.

For Strip hotels, I always stayed at the Venetian. Nice suites, never paid more than $180, but all Strip hotels change prices wildly, depending what's on in Vegas that weekend.
