I'm not 100% sure they're on the same frequency as us.. I had a quick peep and found this on cellularworld.ie.

Dual Band phones working on the 900 and 1800 frequencies, throughout Europe, Africa and Asia Pacific

I think that means they do, but you'd wanna make sure they do before buying one, as if it doesn't work, it's a lump you can't use.

Was there for two days last year.
    Great place.

I would not spend too much time shopping as the place has lot to offer than just shopping. Go visit Sentosa it would take you a whole day.

    Check this site.
    http://www.thingstodo-singapore.com/brochure/content.jsp?FIELD=Shopping&GROUP=2&LEVEL=2&ITEM=15#15

As for shopping we went to Sim Lim Square or Sim Lim Tower (can't remember) ask locals they will tell you.

6 stories building size of St. Stephen Green shopping Center. Sells nothing but electronics. G, 1F Camera and Phones, 2F, 3F Printers, keyboards,.... 4,5 cables, cd, CPU,.....

Everyone can speak English. So prepare to haggle and walk away. If they would not drop price ask for extra battery, bigger/extra memory card, cables, phone covers. They will give to you to make sell.

brand names are more or less the same price as in Ireland without the 21% VAT. Not a lot of saving you might think but you can get lots of extras by haggles.

Little tips before you go there, keep your head clear. know what you want and how much you are willing to pay for it. Some shops have the art to convince you buy thing you don't really want where as some of them are really nice.

Hope that helps, have fun. We did :)
