Calling range against 2 shortstacks?

    $10 9player STT on Tribeca/VC/PaddyPower etc.
    Level3 (50/100). I've 2100 chips, I'm in BB. 8 players left.
UTG goes all-in for 400, MP goes all-in for 500. All others fold. So theres 500+400+100+50=1050 in pot and it costs me 400 to call, guaranteed to see 5 cards if I do call.
I called with TJo and rivered a straight to beat both hands (AJs (UTG) and QQs (MP) but their hands arent too important really.)
I thought about it afterwards and am fairly sure I made a bad call.

Anyone any comments on what their calling range would be in this situation?
If it helps I had no read on either players as they had not shown the hands that had cost them their chips up to then.

    Yeh,

I got in a little spot of trouble on Friday evening in 6 handed tourney, when a recent winner of a good tournament didn't like me calling him with 2 2 .

He was shortstacked, after some unsuccessful bluffs, had his only allowable rebuy, and was on tilt, I caught him trying to bluff me off a pot about 2 hands previously.

Blinds were 100/200 ... I was BB with about 5K, he was button.

2 limpers, and he moves in with his shortstack of 1200.

Now it was obvious he (or any other decent player) was going to move in with any 2 cards, so I said to him, "I'm going to call you because I think you're making a play at that pot".
I flat called, as I thought an isolation move might bring the other limpers, so I was trying to make my hand look stronger than it was to them, and 20% of my stack was enough to invest in the ducks.

As far as I was concerned with the limpers in, I had more than the 50/50 required to make this call....1000 extra into a 1700 pot. (200+200+1200+100)
The fact that it was a 6 handed pub tourney also means you can't afford to turn down these opportunities either, players were dropping like flies.

He had K J and got no improvement.
Anyways he didn't like it one bit and bemoaned the fact to half the pub 'idiot calling with 22' !

    He hurt my feelings.:D
