On february 23rd DIT Poker Soc will be hosting the DIT POKER MARATHON II. This will be an all day poker event, the first of which was hugely successful. (more info http://www.vegasnights.ie/previous_dit.html) VegasNights will be supplying the equipment (tables/chips etc) and first prize will include a ticket into Joe 'Show' Oneill's Poker Channel tournament.

We are looking for a sponsor for this event to raise its profile and as I was aware that several boards members are affiliated with poker websites I am hoping to attract an offer from someone... anyone... beit adding 1k to the prize pool, or providing hats and tshirts, or decks of cards, or poker books, or.....

if anyone is interested please pm me.

    Thanks.

I'm sure Antesup will drop along to report and we'll help where we can in advertising it beforehand but 1k would be beyond our budget (10e might be closer to our pocket size!). All the same, if we can help let us know.

    DeV.

Is this open to the general poker playing public or just students or DIT people?

Oh fine put your eggs in one basket with powers!

    ladbrokespoker.com Europe's No.1 (Need I say anymore!)

Plus they are partners with the Hilton group.

You could well have just turned down Paris Hilton Jeff!!

Yea, i stand by my decision... she's... ehm... hmmm... not the brightest...

Lafortezza... its a student run event designed for students (i.e. 10euro buy-in). It is open to everyone but will be mainly dominated by students. the more players the better... when we have all the details sorted i will post an event guidelines using the boards.ie structure to answer as many Q's as possible.

well once you play the next big one and win you should be happy enough! our next MTT is this thursday, short-handed 5euro game from 4pm in aungier st if you're interested.. and dont worry it should be over by 8.30, leaving you plenty of time to make the 50e double chance in the emporium...

thinking of playing the 250 in the fitz this Thu...
either that or the 50 in SE.

250 is far to high above my pay grade.... i can just about justify the 50.

Damn, the 250 is on that nite. I kinda promised myself I would return to that (havent played it in ages). Hmmmmmmm. Would like to go and play a 5 euro rebuy for a laugh (not all poker should be big high stakes, serious stuff imho!).

Can you drink beer at this? That could be a deciding factor lol!

sadly there is no beer allowed on campus... apparantly!! (although dit's slogan includes THE CITY IS OUR CAMPUS, and the city is full of pubs and clubs... and yet there in their rules is NO ALCOHOL ALLOWED ON CAMPUS, which leads me to thinking that DIT is a government owned body as far as i know, so IN THEORY our government is very indirectly promoting prohibition, but thats a debate for another day on another forum!)

anyway, the 5 euro is high stakes for many students, and as it is rebuys it can often be 10... or even 15 euro for some people. consider the 5 euro a game only a laugh.. but i challange any boardster to come along and bring their A game... my guess is none of you make the top 3!!! oooooh now there's a challange!!! :D:D

    Jeff,
i finish work at 4:30 .can make there about 4:50 ,if you can ante me away till then ,i'll show up?

we allow buyins til the rebuy period ends, usually 5, or 5.30 so you'll be fine... some 'smart' players usually turn up a bit later and pay 10e, for 2000 starting chips, 3000 topup, so you'll be on 5k if you wanna try that little move... but you didnt hear it from me!!!
