does anybody has any info good or bad about this clinic??

    Dont....

If you want surgery, go to your gp and ask him/her to recommend a surgeon who specialises in the area that applies to you.

Dont choose surgery by cost and 'free' consultation. These clinics aren't the best way trust me.Many of the better surgeons would consider it totally unethical to advertise, so bear this in mind.

If your gonna do this dont do it on the cheap! Rather pay extra and have a little more peace of mind.

agree with darobot. It's best to go through your gp.Most of these plastic surgerys such as 'the harley group' or 'advanced cosmetic surgery' are run purely as a buisness. They reel you in for a free consultation and book you in for the operation right there and then. It's best to get a plastic surgeon who works out of a hospital or his own surgey instead of through one of these bisnesses.Ask your gp and look around ,i really wouldnt reccomend going to get a cosmetic procedure done through advanced cosmetic surgey or the harley group. They just have the surgeons who cant get work elsewhere and havent enough experience to open their own surgery.

What if you want to get cosmetic surgery for purely vanity reasons i.e. a boob job or something! would your gp still recommend a good surgeon???

    Absolutley.

They may advise you against it (depending on what you want done, and their views on the procedures safety) but a good gp will not make a moral judgement on you for asking about cosmetic surgery. In fact i'd imagine that they'd only be too happy to help you in the right direction, and keep you away from the cowboy 'clinics'.

I had some work done with the Harley Medical two years ago on my eyes and had a small problem after, but found there after care was crap would never use them again. It was like they just didn't want to know!!

The Late Late had a cosmetic surgeon on a few weeks ago talking about the private clinics and the nature of their aftercare. After watching that you should definitely go through your GP. Some absolutely horrific cases.

The surgeons that work in the likes of Harley or Advance aren't even registered plastic surgeons in Ireland. To get information on those that are please go to www.plasticsurgery.ie I am getting surgery and I am going to the Blackrock Clinic under Margaret O'Donnell. If you want more information PM me.

Yeah, cause Jordan and Kerry Katona don't look as rough as a badger's arse at all:rolleyes:
Whether or not people agree with the reason's why you're having cosmetic surgery, ultimately it is surgery and by undergoing it you are putting your life in the hands of someone else. You wouldn't shop around to get the best price on cardiac surgery or a kidney transplant would you?

yeh like you can really compare silicone/saline implants with cardiac surgery or kidney transplant, get real! no one have ever died from breast implants, if its going boost your confidence and make u feel a million dollars, i say go for it.

It is not the remit of the forum to offer medical advice and dragging up threads from the grave is also frowned upon.
