Finally after much pestering I have decided to organise this. The last attempt failed but we now have the backing of the Fitz to get this on the road. It will start in February and run to September with the Grand Final in October. We will also have an MTT in the fitz in early Feb to kick things off for a bit of fun. You can register on the BSOP site. If you can offer a venue then all the better but with the help of Spiritus we hope that the Fitz can provide the venue where needed. When Hyzepher wakes from his hibernation I'll get him involved in the organisation too but for now myself and Spiritus will be running things. Contact me with any questions or suggestions. I am open to changes in the structure between now and the end of Jan if it makes sense.

Count me in for this. No venue to offer as yet, hopefully that'll be sorted in the next month or two.

Is it going to be all NL hold'em tournaments each month?

Yes I know it has the original title Chris gave it but it's not a true series of poker. Don't forget most of these games in the past developed into home games afterwards with anything goes.

I can't offer a venue because the (back breaking) BATFLAT will be gone soon :(
But I'm registered to play, hopefully I'll be around (and not sitting in freezing cold Denmark for example!).

I am definitle up for this, I would prefer the home game format, where smoking is acceptable, if the host is okay with that, and you can have a few beers with some HCGA afterwards, but will play in the fitz if that is the general preference.

That's a good point muso, maybe you should have an extra page for the BSOP registration.

e.g I've listed my place as a potential venue, but smokers will have to go outside to smoke...and I'd also prefer players who not only drink vodka, but are willing to brink say 3 bottles with them to thank me for hosting, and maybe players who aren't very good at the game if at all possible :D

    you get my point

I get your point. I've rolled it into a little ball and am stamping all over it. As to the smoking thing I expect most people will live with that as we have in the past in Luke's old place etc. Myself and Dev's palaces were about the only ones that allowed smoking.

Don't see your name on the list or your venue (clue - the fitz) on the venue list.

Don't worry about venues. If you have a place we can use great but it's no big deal either way.

Very nice. But does this mean you kinda need to live in Dublin? Or are venues in other parts of the country allowed. Or will there also be on-line freeze-outs?

Muso, I can create a temp subforum for this if you like, or you could make it a big dirty STICKY!!

It's a difficult one allright because most players will be dublin based. Where a game takes place is down to vote so Dublin may be the place it will most likely take place. I for one would enjoy the odd bit of travelling to Limerick for example :) but most probably won't. If it presents a problem then don't forget Nicky will be running an online series of poker too.

I was going to sticky it but decided if folks were interested they would pay attention. Besides registration will close at the end of Jan so I can bump it until then. Not sure if a forum is needed yet. Maybe later when things kick off but I may become protective and use my own forum which still exists :)

Unfortunately hamsters don't travel well. Bi-monthly Galway <--> Wexford already strains me. :o

I'll do the online one if possible so, someone just pinch me when registration starts. :)

Me too, is it online or B&M cause I can play both, sort of. Also I have a fold away texas holdem table, with set of chips (Crimbo pressie) and can travel.

There may be places once this months games are over because I will be cutting names from the list who have not shown up to date. Either that or I'll give up the whole thing. I'll keep ye informed.
