xbox live very bad so far

Hi,

I have had xbox live for ages when I had my xbox , now I have gotten my xbox 360 and my account migrated over, all well and good. But when I put games on live to play them such as COD2 or PDZ i'm 90% of the time getting huge pings of 999 ( I guess thats the max )

Does anyone else have this same problem ?
or is it the fact that with such a small user base there is not many hosts to choose from ?

What type of broadband do you have and who are you with? It definatley sounds like a problem at your end rather than Live itself.

To check your ping on your PC go to start>run>type cmd, then type "ping www.boards.ie" (without "") and post your results here.

COD2 can lag like crazy alright, thats the game itself though.
Ive never gotten lag on PD0 though, sounds like its on your end.

I also lag a lot on CoD but never on PDZ

I get bad lag on CoD (patch releasing soon should fix it), and crazy bad lag on tiger woods, but never get it on PGR3 which is the only other game I've played on live.

PDZ has been spot on, must have just had a bad game in a run of bad games on COD2 and gotten them mixed up.

My ping seems to be fine :

Must just be the disaster that is ONLINE on COD2

why make such a great game and leave out the live side of it, it feels like such an afer thought ?

COD2 lags for everyone, it's being patched soon as someone already mentioned, run the connection test on your 360, if NAT shows "strict" you might have other problems.

I'm having weird problems with COD the last few days. I can join games in progress (I couldn't before) but when I go to enter a lobby I can't get in. NAT's and all that are open, it's a baffler

well then your ok, once your nat is open, any lag you get (specially in cod2) has nothing to do with your connection, its the buggy, rushed pc ported launch game with the bad network code thats the problem.

dont mind the pings on it. the cod2 servers are messed up and there may as well not be a multiplayer element cause as soon as there are more than 4 people it lags. i only ever got lag in pd0 when it was a 32 player game with those stupid annoying flying jetpack things. its nothing to do with xbox live.

Ha yes really bad.

Mine were on moderate and there was 2 guys in the clan who I just couldnt get into a game with, he got in first I couldnt join, I got in first he couldnt join.

Are you not being told almost every second game could not connect?Or at least something to that affect.

Ive never had any problem connecting to games, clan or otherwise, I play Halo, PGR3, and Pro evo 5 all the time, if I get any trouble connecting I will look into them settings being altered.......
