The question is in the title, but it peeves me that talkPSORT is encrypted. Why so. Is there any other radio staions on sky that are encrypted? I wouldn't say that I got sky digital purely in order to recieve talkSPORT, but I was certainly looking forward to being able to listen to it. Naievely I thought that there wouldnt be a problem as I didn't think that any radio stations were encrypted on sky and depended on your viewing region. Also I read somewhere on digital spy a whiile back that talksport broadcast on Get Lucky TV between 4 and 10 pm. Does anybody remember this, and if so know why its now gone.

Yes some of the regional sport related stations (football clubs) can only be decoded with correct postcode card.

Even with an FTV card talksport cannot be recieved but its perfectly recievable on Medium wave radio (1053 or 1089 KHz) although in the West/South of Ireland daytime reception is impossible without a good outside aerial

Talksport TV was on Get Lucky TV for a period of a few months before moving to William Hills' "Channel 425" albeit cut down to two hours.
I haven't checked it lately but that is where it was last on anyway.

Cheers for that. Just had a glance at the EPG for the coming days and it dosen't seem to be listed. Ah well, maybe it wasn't meant to be:(

    As to why...?
Well, Talksport was owned by the Wireless Group which was part owned by (Rupert Murdoch's) News International.
Now that the Wireless Group is owned by UTV, maybe there's a chance of a re-think?

UTV has just made talkSPORT free-to-air on DSAT. The settings are 12361 ~ V ~ 27.5 for manual tuning.

Yeah I just noticed that it's gone FTA when I was looking at the thread about itv 3 and 4 being removed. It is a bit weird that it came about just after this thread was started, you never know maybe the powers that be are among us and listening to us.:)

Just out of curiosity, how would one come about finding out that talkSPORT just went FTA? I presume they don't just check the frequency every so often to see if it is FTA.
