If they are having a tournament near you then maybe drop in early and ask them what the blind levels are, how rebuys/topups work, what the reg fees are, do all entries and rebuys go into the prize fund, is the prize fund limited in any way, is it a self deal tournament and any other details you'd like to know.

http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/search.php and search for 'vegas nights' in thread titles only.

Avon1 banned for being Penos who is Shane O'Neill who runs Texas Nights.
Penos1 banned for having a second account and for sly advertising.

Texas Nights are no longer welcome on this forum or the Antesup forum as a result. Announcing or requesting information about their tournaments deliberately will earn the poster a month ban.

Give it up, I'm MUCH better at finding you then you are at hiding.

Full of IT on the otherhand checks out ok.

PokerKing best not to get involved when other operators are being discussed thanks. That may look like a polite request from me....

Personally I've never been to a Texas Nights event but I have heard bad things about them.

You need to have a deep wallet and a 4 leaf clover around your neck.

This multi re-buy thing should be a thing of the past. Not sure whether they are still doing this but I personally wouldn't play a multi rebuy tournie anymore.
Freezeout is the only way to play poker. posibbly double chance if its a pub tournie (your always in danger of gettin called by a drunk)

Shooting fish + barrel = bad poker night.

DIT POKER STANDS UP AND APPLAUDS!!!

would i have been right in saying that had someone just posted saying 'hi i work for texasnights, i think we're great' it'd have been fine... but the sneaky sneakiness is the problem....

in other news, i help run dit poker society... we're great!!!

I won't hear a word said against multi rebuy tournaments.
Best prize pool value around, and bankrolled accordingly.

Freezeouts, Double Chance, Re-Buys, 6 handed ... you have to adapt to the format, that's all.

Shooting Fish + Barrell = Healthier Bankroll

any one method of tracing can be stymied. Over the last 7 years we've (ok ecksor primaraily) has developed a lot of crossreferencing tools and log tracking thats made it easier for us. Its call MuppCheck. I'm not going into it because otherwise it becomes more difficult to track. Suffice to say that currently the score is:

    DeV: Lots
    Muppets: 0

Yes DIT, while I don't like advertising on forums in general in this forum the ads are a large part of what people here need to know. ie: tournie info.

Look at PPP. it cant be denied that they have benefitted from their work on this forum but they give at least as much as they take. Pokerevents got the unmercifuls kicked out of them at first here, but they had the balls to take their licks and changes things. Anyone who's read my reports knows that I've said they are a different outfit and one who's tournies I would now in fact seek out. Mike and the GJP nights have always been good and always been welcome.

Texas nights on the other hand arent interested in learning I dont think. These underhand tactics backfire every time and are dumb dumb dumb.
They are trying to lure players in my opinion and since those "players" are people in a community that has given me a lot and who I mostly really LIKE, yeah, I get very very annoyed. And you wouldnt like me when I'm angry :):p

actually there is a Danish pilot strike today, I'm stuck here for another day (oh no, boohoo, another night in a 5 star hotel and dinner paid for by SAS).

I'm sitting in a hotel room, listening to The Frames and raiding the minibar.

i agree, if we didnt run our events as multi-rebuy our prize pool would be poor, but we have to cater for those who can only afford 5 and those who want to pay much more. as culchie says, adapt the style of play.

that said, personally when i'm playing freezeouts and double chance are what suit my style best....

**Probably should of said PUB multi rebuy tournaments.**

Casino re buys aren't too bad, as long as no1 is drunk!!

Played a multi re buy 2 weeks ago with a popular tournament organiser. Spent most of the night explaining the rules to their players......... and these were the regular players!!

I've just never liked the multi re-buy thing. Too many bad experiences. But I suppose there's a market for it. We can't agree all the time, can we boys!!

derek... i figure its best if the quality players like us stick to winning games that nick can only finish 2nd in! :D

Ha, Finally got my Emporium card today after 2 months. They must have forgot about my debut win in their casino. You think they'd have made more of an effort to lure me back!!

How about a tournament organisers blacklist - starting with Texas Nights and CPT

I think the opening post was the most blatantly obvious thing I've seen in my life. Good lord. What a muppet.

PS: I like the subtle editting of the title.

The old poker face slipped a bit there, Tom, :) or have you cleared out the mini-bar? Docfarrell's title as top "emotional" poster under threat. :v:

and, by the way, I wonder who added a few words to improve the thread title? ;)

    good work dev....

ref full of it- nope nothing to do with sour grapes i played a texas nights event in the foxhunter a few months ago and thats wat my comment is based on as for me being involved with mullingar house i was originally but now we have gone our seperate ways silverstar who i have no connection with and know nothin about are doing mullingar house from now on while im solely concentrating on the palmerstown house so its nothing to do with me unfortunatly mate, hope that clears a couple of things up for you!

I played a texas night tournament last week, there were five tables, and three had 10 players..........

At the start i asked how many buy ins you were allowed have....the girl replied 'two buy ins and one top up....but we're not that strict'

I was drunk and bought in about seven times.

The top up was funny in that you could top up with 2000 chips for 20 quid or get 4000 chips for 30 quid.

It was mayhem and judging from the poor payouts my estimation would be that they take about 40% to 50% of the prizefund.

They serve nothing for the up and coming poker community, you will learn absolutely nothing at these tournaments and they are a complete rip off. They are however a bit of a laugh if you can resist dipping into your pocket every two hands.........

But my advice is stay away from Texas Nights......if you want a good game of poker.
