Well considering most of my guitar shopping is done blind these days as the shops here just dont have many of the fanastic guitars I see online my only basis to Judge most signature guitars would be the actual tone of the Signaturee (is that the word im looking for?). I can be fairly certain that the John Petrucci ernie ball is a great sounding guitar based on the tones he gets, also the Ibanez's of Andy Timmons / Steve Vai / Joe Satriani for example are also all probably great sounding guitars, but a Dexter Holland guitar wouldnt scream 'Great Tone' at me and for that reason would never make my shopping list.

That and you wouldn't want to be associated via guitar to an artist you don't like.

These guitars have nothing to do with Dexter Holland, whoever he is...

Theyre just limited edition RGs for 2006, and as usual, theyre a bloody rip off....otherwise, if they were cheap, like a grand or so, id think about buying one, cos theyre a bit different

He's the chap in the picture behind the guitars, he's also the lead singer of a bad called 'The Offspring' who I shamefully admit I really use to dig as a kid :(

Hes the idiot who had/has the Ibanez guitar covered in gaffa tape...noodlehead or something..

Heres an Ibanez with two spare strings built in, in case you break em on stage i guess...I dont like it, but i know some here are fans of 7 and 8 stringers..

I don't like the brown-ish one (a bit too gimmiky for my taste) but I like the subtlety of the red one...

The brown one is just too... garish for my liking...

I quite like all of em,. anywhere online you can take a closer look? or whens the release date? ill be in the states in March and in May and probably August too, may pick one up

Have a closer look at the pics Gar, more specifically, the prices on the wall behind the guitars

holy moly, thats an expensive RG

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,706 ✭✭✭Voodu Child

Those are RRP's, I wouldnt pay too much heed of them. Theyre a couple of hundred quid more than the now discontinued (again) RG3120. If you could pick one up (there are only 60 of each worldwide) it would cost you about 1600-1700 euros at a guess. Its not good value, there are a lot of better guitars for the money, but i guess some people will buy it for the unusual/rare nature.

Dont count on seeing one in musicmaker anyhow ;)
