i think i read somewhere that they axed it because they were running out of ideas and didn't won't to run it into the ground like the simpsons.

They actually had characters they wanted to introduce but hadn't yet.

You read wrong, Fox screwed them over by not ordering new episodes after the fourth season.

The also never treated them with respect by showing at the times it was supposed to (or in the right order), or advertising it like it should have been.

Fox are space-jerks.

if that's the case then it should of been the other way round.

simpsons cancelled and futurama to stay. futurama is higher on my list of top prime time cartoons than the simpsons and i think it's great it's coming back.

Yeah Fox really messed it up, I don't think the network executives liked it at all. It was supposed to be shown after american football matches but they nearly always ran overtime and then it would be cancelled. Without a proper fixed time slot it was doomed. This had the result of messing up the seasons, with an extra fifth season being broadcast which was made up of the backlog of episodes.They never bothered promoting it either.:mad:

If these movies are being made I think Fox are testing the market, if sales do particularly well they'll recomission the show.
