I'm looking to buy an external hard drive between 250 - 300gb. I've looked on Amazon and Komplett and seen the deals and what they have to offer but i'm just wondering is there anywhere else i can look as regards price and quality? Cheers.

Buy a 3.5" hdd, buy a caddy with USB2.0 and Firewire, put drive in caddy, plug into pc, format and use.
