Blocking Skype going through proxy

    To stop Skype and a few more using your squid web proxy, added the following to the .conf

    acl numeric_IPs url_regex [0-9]+\.[0-9]+\.[0-9]+\.[0-9]+
    http_access deny CONNECT numeric_IPs all

    but it wouldn't catch the requestsfor me.

    What firewall are you using?

    That rule won't block HTTP tunneling programs, and causes programs like Skype to fail.

    I posted the lines above as i said it may be useful to somebody,true though its not a good fix at all as the 3 pages of .pdf would lead you to believe
