I'm going to be drilling trough a 4/5 inch wall tomorrow to feed a network cable trough to the next rooms PC. Any advice on a cheap but decent filler?

I assume you mean whats best for filling it after youve drilled the hole and put the cable in?

You could fill it with bonding, leave this 2 mm short of the surface, and then use polyfilla on top. sand it down when dry and paint.

Or you could take the lazy/messier option of using expandable foam. Cut away when set to 2mm short of surface, polyfilla, sand, paint. Be careful with foam (get it in any diy shop) cos u need way less of it then you think you do cos it expands so much, and cover up everything before using it cos its THE worst thing to remove from any surface (including yourself!)
