Reliable External Harddrives

    Apologies if this is the wrong forum/there is a thread recently posted about this already.

    Simple question. Who in your opinion is the most reliable manufacturer for external harddrives?
    I was all set to get a LACIE 320Gb drive when I started reading a lot of negitive comments about the harddrive failing after a few months. Pity, cause I really liked the look of the LACIE harddrives.

    i have the €145 250gb maxtor one on the left, never had an ounce of bother excpet when it arrived and it was FAT32 formatted, the thing wouldn't touch any file over a gig.
    the only comlaint is that it doesn't support firewire. but it's still quick and reliable.

    Iv had the Maxtor OneTouch II 300Gig now for about 6 months, GREAT

    Its the USB version and speeds are not 2 bad, I keep all my backups on it and also some temp files i need to transport :)


    Overall it was a very good buy, Happy dance :)
