Torrents Keep Timing Out

Hi guys, i have a problem with downloading torrents from the net. I'm using Bit Tornado and when i attempt to download a torrent it will go fine for a short time and then eventually frezze. The torrent will stop downloading and will just hang. In order to continue torrenting i close down BT, reopen it and load up the .torrent file again.....

I have reinstalled BT and it hasn't done anything to solve the problem. I have setup port forwarding on my router and double checked that my firewall is allowing it thru. It doesn't happen with all torrents, only with some. The problem has only arisen since i installed a second H/D.

I'm running XPSP2. Does anyone know what could be the problem or if you have encountered a similar problem before?

    Try other clients.
I think I read Bit Tornado is just a re-packaged Bit Comet with spyware.

Try µTorrent (latest build 405), I've always found Azureus to be too bloated.

I also had some time-out trouble when my Router was connected with USB, once I switched to the LAN cable, it went away.

I know that for me I had a none firewall/port forward problem recently.
I eventually figured out that the Preferences box of Bit tornado strangly turned on the randomize tick box for the port range.
This effectivley made my port forwarding useless as I had only set it up for the first 4 ports, 10000 - 10004 (4 simultanious downloads being plenty for me) and Bit Tornado was using any port between 10000 and 60000.
I unchecked the box and it was fine. Might be your problem?

Have a look at your max peer connections setting. This is what usually causes freezing. Try setting it to 40, then to 30 if that doesn't help.

its certainly not that problem or a port forward problem. I might just try another client next around and see if that solves the issues

google how to use torrents or else go to a torrent forum. This isn't really the place to ask!
