Does anyone know of a place where my wife can start her apprenticeship as a hairdresser in Dublin. She really wants to start her career in hairdressing and is very eager to start. She is 23. Please help!!

Most of the well-known hairdressers (Toni & Guy, Peter Marks etc.) will advertise regularly for juniors, where they will take someone on and provide a full apprenticeship lasting four years, so keep an eye out in the newspapers for ads.

Other than that, I think there may be a FAS course that will provide a basic training in hairdressing skills, but I'd recommend the other route if at all possible (and if she is sure she would stick a four year apprenticeship). She would start at the very bottom - sweeping, washing hair etc. but the training provided is excellent and very comprehensive.
