Festivals!

As the season is nearly upon us for people to start announcing festival lineups, I was wondering did anyone want to try and guess some headliners??

I'm more inerested in Electric Picnic, but after what I just saw on NME.com, I assume that Smashing Pumpkins may do a slot at Oxygen

Anyway in that thread I think I remember reading Placebo may play oxegen. That would be absolutley amazing!!!!

Dunno of any other rumours though.

We'll see how AM's fair on Mon/Tues...but I am optimistic....

Would love to see Editors play something this year.....

Actually, Pumpkins would fit well on a 3 - 4 header Slane line-up (presuming they want to recover from last years disaster....)

I've heard at least 6 different people tell me its Pearl Jam who are headlining Oxygen this year. I'm not strictly believing them but I'm dreaming with hope . When are the tickets out again anyways?

Hehe..ya never know....they should have bands like that playin though.Add a bit of variety...they could always have a metal tent..I mean they have a dance tent and stuff.

From the sounds of things it looks like its gonna be Radiohead.

As for EP (the only real festival there is ) the people over there seem to think its Daft Punk.

I missed the EP last year so all I'm hoping is that this year's line up will be even half as good. Smashing Pumpkins would be incredible though!

I'd expect one or three of these at Oxegen:

50 Cent, The Darkness, Franz Ferdinand, Gorillaz, Massive Attack (probably'll do EP instead), Morrissey, Outkast, Placebo, Portishead (EP?), Radiohead (EP?), Stereophonics, The Strokes, Kanye West, The White Stripes...

(this is just pure speculation on my part.)

Can't see Pearl Jam or The Smashing Pumpkins heading Oxegen at all really.

It's all very cloak and dagger, MCD vs Aiken. Neither want to show how little they have yet. Still say EP will be the better of the 2 days, due to the lower scobe count. Ox will like the last 2 years be ful of knackers... prob even more this year...

Prob be an announcement from oxegen before the end of jan, else def by the first week in feb...

Yeah, but hopefully they'll just gravitate towards the main stage, leaving me to enjoy the other music!

Apparently Muse and the Strokes are headlining Oxegen. Announcement should be made soon.

Heard that aswell even, I'd bet my mortgage on it. The Strokes will be announced after they play their Point gig but IMO they aren't headline material

Get a list of all the bands who have released albums of late/or are releasing albums soon and you've got an indication of your lineup.

Muse, The Strokes, Franz Ferdinand, Arctic Monkeys, The Zutons, Belle and Sebastian, Morrissey, Bell X1, Kanye West...... I'd put money on all of those. Also tragically The Darkness are rumoured.

Looks like a sh!t lineup already without any bands even been announced!

Seems like it's going to be the same old, same old. Green Day and Foo Fighters already played Witnness in 2003, now we'll see Muse and The Strokes (most likely) reclaim their spots from 2004...

Never gonna happen. Pearl Jam don't play festivals anymore. Not since Roskilde. They rarely even have normal GA gigs.

I'm going to skip Irish festivals this year. Heading to Sonar in Spain and one other festival. I went to Dour in Belgium last year and it was great.

Maybe things have changed after the South American shows? I very much doubt they'll play Oxegen. However, I thinking The Who for Slane (they said they were doing European festivals this summer), so I wouldn't rule out a support slot there (though at the same time I wouldn't deem it likely).
