Konica Minolta to stop making all cameras

I like the way they put IS into the sensor, and the fact that the sensor cleans itself of dust too. Pity, cause I can't imagine Canon or Nikon putting IS into the sensor with all the money they're making on IS lenses. They'll probably have to put in the vibration cleaning at some stage though.

    That sucks :(

Both of my proper digital cameras have been Minolta and they've both been brilliant.

I would have thought their models sold quite well, they have a good range imo.

Are you sure you are not mixing it up with Olympus?

Hmmm, yes. Unless Olympus got mixed up with Konica-Minolta, which is far more likely :)

The K-M does have the IS in the sensor though.

I feel a bit sad that KM has left the market. I only have a compact KM but I did enjoy taking photograph with it...

When I was young(er) my ambition was to own a Minolta XD7, I dreamed, fantascised, drooled over the pictures in Time magazine ads. Never did get it :(

Got a Pentax Spotmatic instead. For our younger viewers, that was a bit like the difference between a Fiat Panda and a Volvo.

Sad indeed - my first serious SLR was a (second-hand) Minolta X-700, which I still have, as I couldn't bear to part with it (European Camera of the year for 1981, you know ;) ), and my first digital camera was a Minolta Z1, which I still use for casual stuff...

I love my G530! Great for taking quasi-amateur photos (if that made any sense :p )
