    ..and who is/was Barry Scott

    "Hi im Barry Scott"

And when he's in the kitchen he's screaming at whatever the womans name is. For arguments sake 'Anne' 'SO ANNE WHAT DO YOU THINK OF CILLIT BANG????' Its terribly dubbed though isnt it? Very irritating ad.

Maybe he's mounting a 1-man campaign to get people to detune TV3 from their TV's and never watch any of their programming again? No bad idea imho.

The CB add is loud but has anybody else noticed that the volume on TV3s ads is much louder than the tv shows...maybe it's just our tv?

That's a popular trick by nearly all the channels.
Once the ad comes on, the viewing audience start to chat or get up and make a cuppa, so they increase the volume - Audio compression takes place when minimum sound levels are raised artificially during the production stage in order to make them stand out. They may also show the ads just after a quiet scene in the programme.
Channel 5, Bravo and ITV have both been warned by OFCOM in the UK for doing it as it breaches broadcasting regulations there.

You might be able to complain to the BCC , but I don't think they have included such in any of their codes.
    6.9 Sound levels in advertisements
Advertisements must not be excessively noisy or strident. Studio transmission
power must not be increased from normal levels during advertising breaks
    Note:
The peak level of sound at the studio output should not exceed +8dBm.
To ensure that the subjective volume is consistent with adjacent
programming, whilst also preventing excessive loudness changes, highly
compressed commercials should be limited to a Normal Peak of 4 and a Full
Range of 2–4 (measured on a PPM Type IIa, specified in BS6840: Part 10,
Programme Level Meters). A fairly constant average level of sound energy
should be maintained in transitions from programmes to advertising breaks
and vice versa so that listeners do not need to adjust the volume. A perceived
loudness meter may be useful where sound levels might cause problems.

Ever since I seen this last year the cillit bang ads have become a pleasure to watch as they remind me of this and I have a little chuckle.

Cilit Bang, Cilit Bang, CCCC Cilit Bang! If the Crazy Frog can get to number one....Whiskeyman do you know the guy who composed the remix?

Imagine my shock when I came to Canada and found out that they've got a product called Easy Off Bam, and yes, the ads are exactly the same except instead of Barry Scott, it's Dan something or other. He's dressed exactly like Barry Scott, and the whole ad is shot the same with the exact same script.

Except substituting Easy Off Bam for Cillit Bang obviously.

This guy is virtualy Tom Cruise in comparison to another none entity, that for some reason mentions his own name in an ad, like we're supposed to know who he is.

I am talking about the "Who ???"

    Neville Knot!

This guy is on some ad on sky news selling furniture. He's some gimp!

Neville is an old mate of mine. We used to go on badger baiting holidays together in Tipperary back in the 70s. Oh great days!

I noticed the same thing when I was in South Africa in November. They also had a different actor and the product was named slightly differently... but you couldn't mistake the carbon-copy "nails on a chalk board" advert.
