    Hey hey,

Just a tidbit of TV news that everybody was expecting but I thought should be thrown up anyway for confirmation... Malcolm In The Middle and That 70's Show have been cancelled.

Not really much of a shame there - both were decent shows in their time but had both (in my opinion) outlived their welcome. Good move by Fox to axe the deadwood now instead of ending up with more Simpsons never-say-die style shows on their books...

Good riddance to bad rubbish, in my opinion!

Am sick of people praising 'Malcolm..' - started off excellent but the formula got old real quick - apart from Bryan Cranston as Hal who truly stole every scene he was in.

I'd agree - to an extent at least, I wouldn't say it got old *real* quick (I found it to be entertaining until around season 4?) but, yes, it did indeed get old - and the last two/three seasons have been of a woeful standard... Like I said, no great shame, no great surprise either!

Season 7 Malcolm is still good. Was there any word on whether they're going to do a full 22-24 eps or are the just going to pull the plug immediately?

Ah, it's gonna run for the full season until the middle of May Pigman...so you'll have plenty more Malcolm to savour in the meantime :)!

Both expected really. Malcolm deserves to be praised because for several years it was fantastic. It did get dodgy the last few seasons, wasn't as funny, but there were some good episodes here and there. They need to dump the simpsons as well,it is far worse than malcolm has become.

You and I both know we'll all be long dead before they cancel that train-wreck of a tv show.

Malcolm in the middle is still good but That 70's went down hill and im not sorry to see that go.

haven't been following either but any Malcom I caught recently was still enjoyable, no doubt about Hal though, he was the best thing in the show.

As for That 70's Show, I really got sick of that after the second season (I think), shortly after that it seemed that RTE weren't giving it a decent slot anyway. No loss there

Didn't know That 70's Show was still being filmed at all. So no loss for me there.

Malcom is good, was better, but better to end it now before it turns sour. The kids are all getting a bit old for one thing.

I thought Malcolm dipped for a while and I lost interest but I did enjoy last season and the first episode of this new season. Shame.

I still find Malcolm extremely watchable.

I didn't even know they were still making that 70's show to be honest and I thought it was largely absolute crap after the intial good spell of the first few episodes, bar the father, whose name escapes me, excellent actor though. (He played Clarence in Robocop :D)

    Kurtwood Smith.. fine actor alright!

Got very irritating in 'That 70's Show' - found him saying "DUMBASS" far too often!

The comedic ability of the three "leads" in 'That 70's Show' were actually quite excellent though - by leads, i mean Ashton Kutcher, Danny Masterson and Topher Grace being three fine comic actors... and no, i'm not kidding!

The two girls (Laura Prepon and Mila Kunis) and especially Fez (Wilder Valderrama) were pathetic though!

Danny Masterson is great alright, saw him in very few other things really though.

The only show I've ever been truly dismayed over cancellation are Freaks and Geeks, and more recently upon watching, Firefly....

I also saw Laura Prepon in the film Slackers recently enough, pretty poor effort, even in a minute supporting role....

    Amen brother!

Two of my favourite cancelled shows! :(

Anyone who knows me knows i've been harping on about 'Freaks..' for years now and have gotten everyone i know to watch the series. And also.. not one person has been disappointed after watching the series!

You should track down "Undeclared" too...!

I was never a fan of either show so I can't say I'm too upset about this news.

Is That 70's show still on TV in Ireland? I'd watch it if it was on but wouldnt care less if I missed it.

The only show I wish they made more of was the Job with Denis Leary. Very good. Only one season do!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,829 ✭✭✭KerranJast

The Job was good but Rescue Me is much better than it ever was (and has many of the same actors involved too.)

just after recently watching all of that 70s show back to back (nothing else to watch) and it has gone downhill since season 4, although it did pick up a bit in season 7 (mainly because laura prepon was looking quite hot :) ) season 8 is quite poor

"Meh", thats about all the emotion I can muster up about the news. I never watched That 70's show. Used to love Malcom in the middle but now I'd watch it if I wasnt bothered about what I was watching.

both masterson brothers out of work.
they both had a good run and it's time to move on. maebe fox can throw some of the extra money towards arrested development. (i'm an eternal optimist).

as for freaks and geeks, that was what that 70's show could only dream of being. ah well, another example of tv executives being completely off the mark.

I love That 70s Show but I never got to watch it since RTE relegated it to 3am or so on a Sunday night for a few weeks and Paramount seemed to have a little run on it for a while at around midnight every night...

Pity it was never really picked up fully by any Irish or UK channels...

Might source out the DVDs at some point, although only the first 3 seasons seem to be available and they're far too expensive...

I think that THat 70s Show really died a long time ago. It was just so stupid in the last 3 or so seasons.

Malcolm is good, but I think they're making the right decision to end it now.
