Depends on the hours, experience, company, position I guess ...

But from what I hear it's possible, once you don't mind giving up most of your time.

Not really. Of course it depends on the hours. But I wouldn't be expecting it going into security....more like 400 a week I'd say.

I don't know if the rate varies from firm to firm...

Most security jobs are just above min wage, only thing that makes worth it would be workin nites! thats what its like for me any way! 440 if your workin nites all week!

If you worked 12 hour nightshifts 5 days a week you should make between 5 and 6 hundred a week.

5 days would be nice, but alot of the security firms get you to do a 6 day week. All nice and legal, as you've signed up for it in the contract, thus you don't get extra for going over the "normal" 39 hour week.

Mate of mine started last week @ 9.15 euro per hour plus14.50 allowance if he works sundays/bank holidays.They will put him up to 10.50 after 3 months probation. 12 hr shifts 7 to 7.Regards

I imagine this happens but the OP said he was willing to put in the work and wanted to know if he could make 500 a week. Its definitely possible.
