    actually , on this subject:
do most trad guitar players use DADGAD these days or stick with standard tuning ( and a capo )?
ive mostly played rock and blues guitar but have dabbled in trad a wee bit.
I always think that unless you have 2 guitars handy its too much of a pain to use DADGAD.
maybe im too used to the standard at this stage.

Thanks for the link, that looks interesting. I know a lot of people accompany trad stuff without using the DADGAD tuning but then again I heard that certain guitarists will show up at a session and just hammer out their three chords along with the music so I don't want to go down that route.:)

Hi Jane, you could try Davey Grahams web site http://www.daveygraham.moonfruit.com/ as he is the guy who brought back the DADGAD tuning from africa to the UK. he has a very good web page with some audio on it, also you might look at Bert Jansch http://www.bertjansch.com/ he plays a lot of tunes DADGAD Also John Renbourn http://www.john-renbourn.com/ they are all folk/blue guitarists but the all play trad too. Good luck
