Anybody out there using Skype? I just got set up and was curious how many other posters had it and how was it working out. Is the quality / service dependable?

I use it to talk to friends in Iceland. Havent tried the new video conferencing yet. Usually use another program for that. On broadband its great. On dial up its crap

Its great ive been using it for two years. It can have its bad days now and then when the quality is crap or you cant get through but normally if you leave it for a few hours it resolves itself.
Otherwise the quality is great and its cheap as ****.

Have been using since August. Love it to bits, get to call home from London for less than a penny a min. Sorted.

    Quality is great.

AFAIK you can ring mobiles but it costs a bit more. I think its something like 16c per min compared to 1.7c per min for landlines. Skype to skype is free. That's the best part.

ya its a great program. good quality and of course its free. well worth the dl. oh ya if you want to ring landlines you gotta buy the skype credit thing.

Its also handy for sharing files. I'm sending photos to a friend in London (about 350mb lots of photos!) so sending it by email wouldnt be practical.

I know there are otherways but this is handy

i use it to chat to my mates in college who all have bb of course about projects and stuff. It gets a bit annoying when you get a IM from someone in China asking you to be their next best friend thou

Sometimes i find Google Talk a bit easier to use, plus google talk is a lot smaller as a process, Skype is massive.
