Why would you want to pay to cancel it?

    They don't do refunds.

The only reason Ryanair give refunds is if they cancel a flight, or an immediate family member dies.

*Note: in the true Ryanair spirit, you must be able to provide documentary evidence of the death...

So to answer the OP - whatever you paid for it!

There is always the question of the travel/airport taxes which don't apply if you don't travel....

If its any use to you- you can change the flight at a cost of 20 (sterling I think). I had to do it recently

If you have insurance you can probably claim some of it back. Depends on excess.

You also have to pay any increase in the price, of course.

I had to change a flight with Ryan Air before Christmas.....I called to say I wanted to cancel it & they told me just not to turn up....if I wanted to alter my booking it would have cost €260 & the actual cost of flights were cheaper (included admin charges, etc).....I just didn't turn up & booked afresh at the sum of €140....so make sure it is worth your while if you change flights! ;)

Had it happen with BMI baby... i could go, other person could not.. it cost €75 to change the name on the ticket!!! It was an E-Ticket TOO for christ sake. Anyway it turned out being only a little cheaper than a new ticket for the person who came instead...
Rip off but its how they make money and offer cheap flights.

I changed my flight 12 hrs before it was due to depart. Booked it for the following day. Only cost the £20 + around £3 surplus

I think there is a €10 euro charge for refund of the taxes and charges

    Dec

When I tried to change our flights, I read.....

Fares, fees and charges are non-refundable - there is a €20 per person charge for any tax refund....

If you wish to change the date of flying there is a charge of €30 per person/per leg of journey to do this if going through the web site & €40 if using the reservations centre......:eek:

For us, since we didn't pay €40 in taxes there was no point even applying for a refund and when we changed the date of flights we were quoted €120 extra for admin charges..... Maybe run the dates throught the website facility for changing dates to see what charges you would get? If folks have been able to change for less, maybe we were just unlucky? :(

Ok , I have two flights booked with ryanair, but due to the match i was travelling to being postponed, i have to cancel both

The taxes, fees and charges add up to 150

Subtract the 40 euro taken by Ryanair (20 each flight)

Does this mean I can expect 110 back ?

If not, how much roughly should I expect back ?

    Thank you in advance

if the 110 doesn't include the prices of the tickets, then it seems right, although you are best to confirm that with Ryanair directly.

Expect nothing back because Ryanair do not give refunds EXCEPT for a death of an immediate family member - this was also stated by another poster, read above. If you try to say that an immediate family member has died, they will ask you to produce a death cert. So basically you have lost all your money....thats how Michael O'Leary has made his money!!

Incorrect. They will issues refunds of taxes and charges - not the actualy fare part of the total cost. However, they charge an administration fee. Often people do not bother because they administration fee would not make it worth while - however, in a situation like this, were after taking into account the admin fees there is a substantial balance remaining, claiming a refund makes sense.

    No, it's just the taxes
    Cheers for the reply

    From Ryanair FAQ:
All Ryanair fares are fully changeable flight/dates/times/routes and names (up to three hours prior to original flight departure) however fares, fees or charges are non-refundable. Government taxes may be refunded. Ryanair apply refund €20 per person administration charge for tax refund requests.

Ryanair e-mail itineraries include the following items in the total flight cost:

    Taxes,Fees & Charges
    Aviation / WCHR Levy

They will only refund government taxes, all other charges and levies are non-refundable.
