DVD Decoder

When I put a DVD into my DVD drive it will not play and an error messege appears saying that I need to install a compatible DVD Decoder to play a DVD. What is a DVD Decoder and where do I get one? Cheers in advance.

It means you need to have DVD player software installed, such as Power DVD, or WinDVD. If you want to keep it free, you can use VLC - http://www.videolan.org.
