I got some of my upgrade last night as in all the menu changes , but the new radio setup is yet to be implemented.

The numbering won't change until near to everyone has the new software, it seems, and that includes the radio re-sectioning

The new SW takes a while to roll out.

The number changes AFAIK do not rely on SW updates/rollout, but an integral part of SKY epg system since launch.

So once they think most boxes are updated, "Click" and the numbering changes. Probabily about 3am.

Does anyone know if the software update will download to a digibox when it is always left on?

I got the sky+ update last night, but it is the only box that i turn off.
I have an old Amstrad which still has the blue borders on the top and bottom of menus and a Panasonic DSB 31. Both are left on for recording via Media Centre and a HDD recorder because the autoview does not work with them.

yes it will. the box needs to be on to download the update

The Digibox is always fully on if plugged in. "Standby" just mutes the A/V connectors and switches of the RF modulator.

Standby OR "on" is just fine for updates

The remote on/off or the front panel on/off are almost ficticious. They don't matter to updates.

    Which digibox do you have?

Did anyone have their SKY+ Hard Disk wiped when the new software downloaded?

Everything on my HD was deleted and I had to do a Full System Reset before it would let me record a programme.

I tried The Rebuild first but it did nothing. Did this happen to anyone else?

Yeah it fecked my recordings up as well and had to do the full reset as well to get sky+ functions back again , at least my sky+ box still works , a few people on Digital Sat board have had their sky+ boxes die completely after the update

    my recordings were left intact

My recordings were also left intact, alsl i have noticed the Menu has speeded up nicely aswell. When browsing channels i use the Page up and down before upgrade this was slow to update and now it flies along.

Reading about these problems and the minority of completely dead boxes is putting the ****s up me somewhat. Good to hear that a lot are getting through without problems too though.

I'm getting a Sky+ install next Tuesday. I suppose that would be far too soon to expect a working box with this update pre-installed? I imagine they may take a little time to filter down while they get rid of existing stock.

updates are never pre-installed as far as I can see. But if everyone has the update, then a forced update always works. If they are still rolling out an update then a forced update will update to the current version if the box version is older, rarely the release on roll out.

The update arrived yesterday. Needed to power off the box to get the picture back on but all was well after the reset (i.e. all recordings were intact).

Must say I like the new Favourites option. Now have 50 channels selected on favourites and can cut out most of the crap channels on the EPG.

It should be ok if the card is initialised after a forced download.
