I wouldnt be too hasty with discarding the db5 as a Money Pit. A money pit in my mind is a car that is so bad, that you keep having to throw money at it, to keep it going, and it;s all wasted really....

That is not true for any of the DB's. The DB5 is not more or less reliable or better or worse built than a DB6 or a V8, or any other sixties sports car. The problem is that the DB5 has an erormous appeal to a lot of people, and is therefore extremely desireable, causing the prices for these cars to be pushed into an almost unreachable height. It has become the territory of investors and the DB5's have become, true to the word, "collector's" cars.

So unfortunately, yes, generally expect to pay over 100k Euro's for a fine example. There's currently a superbly original, completely and utterly rust/damage free Silver metallic 63 RHD DB5 for sale in France through my contact, stored since 1985 after completing 97% of a full refurbishment and a nut and bolt engine/gearbox overhaul, but the car has never driven since. For a car in this condition, where you'd expect to be putting another 10-15k in to prepare the car for road use again, you still need to bring 87k !!!!
