Right.. have a few machines lying around the office and thought i'd cobble together a nice little machine for myself for free.. i found a p4 that was only missing a hard-drive and ram (which i was able to source from elsewhere) but after i connected everything up found it wasnt working- no output to a monitor at all and no beeps on start-up which i've been told means there could be a problem with the motherboard or the processor.. so does anyone know how i can find out where the problem is? i've heard motherboards are cheap so i dont mind spending a few bob to get this working.. Any suggestions?

it might even be the PSU. when the power is connected to the PC, does it show
any signs of recieving power? are any of the LEDs on the motherboard lit up?

as for no VGA output, you could always find a graphics card somewhere.

by the sounds of it, you found the PC lying in the corner for a reason.

    its f**ked.
