Mac X.3 Panther +eircon wireless BB

    ok,
    Am using eircoms wireless setup on my laptop, working fine.
    Now, we have a powerbook in the house using the above OS
    Connects fine via ethernet CABLE.
    Anyone know why its *seeing* the wireless network but not using it when using Airport?

    All ideas much appreciated. ;)

    If you go into system prefs, then networks and pick the n/w status tab, what does it say for airport?

    Ideally the little button on the left should be green. Is it green or not? If not, it should say why beside it

    have you selected it in internet connect?
    have you set your network in system preferences to automatic.

    are you using an eircom wireless router or going froma normal router to another wireless router.

    have you tried entering in the set up adress to see if it connects. its something like 192.168.1.1, you'll find it in the setup guide.

    do you have a code (WEP etc) take it off and check. Or tey knocking off internet robustness.

    the only times i have a problem connecting with the mac are when i start up safari too quickly after waking the compuetr up, i just hear a few quiet clicks abot a minute after start up and then i can go, the othertime is when i'min the shadow of the hotpress/fridge column thar is in my house.

    I have the opposite problem, mac just connected and stays connected, windows keeps dropping off.
