My Sky+ box is forcing me to enter a PIN to view recorded 12, 15 and 18 movies, even though I dont have Parental Control turned on.

    Anyone else experiencing this?

it will do before the watershed unless you turn on parental control and specifically turn off the checkboxes for what you want under pin control...

it seems ridiculous but having parental control switched off actually means that full parental control is enabled!

there is another funny...when using the copy function with parental control on you will be asked for a PIN at the beginning of the copy no matter what your choice of parental control checkbox options...

to add to this if parental control is switched off copy behaves differently...you could have a copy with a U item followed by an 18 item (before the watershed)...you would not be asked for a pin on the first but then be asked on the second and therefore end up with 2 hours of a pin screen on your DVD

so...the best setup is to have parental control on but all age category boxes unchecked...I'd prefer if they removed this feature altogether but there you go!

Well, I think that Sky's theory is to allow any film, regardless of time of day, to be shown. The only way that Ofcom will allow this is if PIN protection works. The introduction of Sky Movies 9 and 10 to show 15 rated films in the late afternoon shows where this is going.

But asking for the PIN while copying a recording is pure daft.
