its that time of year again, college society budgets!! in the spirit of openness that we have, we plan on asking for more than we need in order to get what we want... the usual... anyway, i have to submit our budget request for the dit poker soc within the next few days and would appreciate any suggestions: so far we have...

    A subscription to cardplayer
    Tshirts for the team event
Our buy-in for the team event!!!! (we are that cheap!!)
Tickets into tournaments so we can hold qualifiers (eg. 10 seat 3 euro qualifier for the fitz 30e game!) <<--- does this remind any seasoned pro's about the days gone by when you played for the love of the game, and not the money! :D
New poker chips, because our current ones are... questionable....

    for everything else... there's mastercard!

How about a full expenses paid trip to Vegas (not VegasNights!) for the winner of Player of the Year?

funny story, during our 'lets email everyone for free stuff' phase, we emailed several casinos in las vegas (hence we play with decks of cards from the MGM Grand and from the Palms), anyway... below is an email from the MGM...

    Gentleman,

What I can do is send you 3 boxes of playing cards. Also I am pleased to say that we can donate a 2 night stay here at the MGM on a bi annual basis. This would be room only and I would need a little notification because there are some restricted dates. When you are ready, please just email me with the names and dates you would like to come. You gents could run a tournament for the air fair.

    Looking forward to seeing you,

    xxxxxx

Make sure you keep some money for fancy posters. Impulsive buying and all that, shiney things.

I think better quality playing cards are a must. A subscription to poker europa aswell as I'm gona have articles in it very soon!

What about doing up a website for the society. You'll need to put down a digital camera on your budget aswell to take pics of all the winners. On the website front I could help with that. Doing reports and stuff

let me work this out, we start with 8 red(25) 8 blue(100) and 2 white(500), then blacks are introduced as 1000 and greens as 5000. We have up to 80 a game... approx 700 red, 700 blue, 250 white, 250 black, 100 green.

2000 chips total. preferably with chip cases and cards and the works!

Make sure I'm on that team event. Id be very annoyed if I'm dropped, and would have to presume it was becouse of my forever loyalty to the merrion (true home of Irish (english) poker) and ladbrokespoker.com (europes no.1 poker room.)

Also, tell me you have more on your website than just that main page!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,924 ✭✭✭shoutman

It appears that there is no more then just the main page on that site. Good work though jeff, it looks really classy.

And as for being dropped cause you play on Ladbrokes, well thats just not possible, I play on Ladbrokes and have already been confirmed to play. :D

What do you play under on Ladbrokes I'll have a look out for you.
I play under shoutman, you might see me around the $5 sngs the 20 hand level .50 reg ones, I just dont know why people play the $1 reg games it just makes no sense.

absolutely nothing else! heheh. so whats the deal with u and ladbrokes then!?

Placed itm in the last four sngs now with two firsts a second and a third place. So im happy again and am loving laddies.
