Report him to Ebay, and get your money back from either Paypal or your credit card company/bank (if Paypal won't help).

Ye I filed a complaint and paypal said it might take up and over 1 bloody month to reconcile. I bloody hate paypal. The fees are so high yet you get the ****test customer support ever! The phone line has you holding for 20 mins!

In fairness the fees for the person making the payment are nil. Its the seller who gets hammered...

Can your credit card company obtain a refund for you?

It looks like u have to wait for a month to let paypal sort it out. I believe they wil refund the money.but if you do not wish to wait, just ring the creditcard company and cancel the transaction. It wil work.

Hmm - you only paid for it 5 weeks ago and you do have to allow time before you can claim.

I have used paypal to get refunds twice and it took about 3 weeks from date of claim. I used my credit card company to get a refund once and despite it being a typed instruction they managed to dispute a paypal payment rather than the actual one (non-paypal) that I had requested - it took 6 weeks to clear things up with paypal that time.

On the flip-side of the buyer being scammed there is also the increasingly common case of sellers being scammed

so I suppose Paypal are trying to make a balance between buyers and sellers...
