Satellite Newbie, Citycom receiver

    Hi Guys.
The apartment I moved into seems to have a free to air satellite. Since the box basicly cost us nothing we are going to give it a go until we decide to get sky or not.

Basicly the Citycom box is fairly heavy going to navigate and configure but I have removed other Satilites listed allong with their channels and have a pretty huge block of mainly useless channels and in between some I would actually watch.

Anyways the ASTRA-28 satellite seems to be the only one that I can actually receive, which makes sense. Currently I use a feature in the receiver to download a list of channels.

IS there anyother channels I can add that are not on the channel lists?
Also is there any good websites about what I can do with this kit?
Is this the same satellite that sky uses?

Sorry for all the questions but even an idiots guide would do the trick!

Try http://www.lyngsat.com/28east.html for a list of channels, free and not.

Well there are 4 Satellite at that position and All of Sky uses all 4 of them.
But not all of all 4 is used by Sky.

You should have about 70 radio stations.
    All ITV1 and BBC1 Regions
    4 BBC2 Nations
    CBBC & CBeebies till 7pm then BBC3 and BBC4
    ITV2, 3 & 4(after 6pm?), ITVs M&M
BBC News24, Sky News, Euronews, CNN
About 4 or 5 Pop video channels also Classic FM TV, Musicians Channel and Performance.
Extreme Sports, Reality TV, Travel, Wrestling
Various ethnic channels in English and some not English
Bad Movies, Horror, Matinee and True Movies (all part time)
    Comunity, Information and London Channel.
Various religious channels, of very variable quality, many some flavour of Christian. A few Muslim.

    20,000 Shopping channels

If you add RTE1, 2, TV3 and TG4 the teletext and subtitles work, but no picture or sound as they are irish Sub Pay TV only.
