    RU kidding me!
FFs it's just a rounded corner!

Fair play to the marketing department
They have to do SFA work these days

    edit -
    + it's 16.90% APR as apposed to TSB's 9.9%

I think eddie hobbs might advise against choosing a credit card on the way it looks....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,564 ✭✭✭✭whiskeyman

just cut out your own rounded corner using a scissors... as long as you don't cut the magnetic strip or chip area, it still works...
Heck.. you can cut all the corners if you want and be "totally cool" with a unique look.

I know someone who has that card but I'm fairly sure that it they got it when they were a student.

Cant you take a scissors to one corner, practice first of course on some old card.

I wouldn't advise getting a credit card that is irregular looking in any way. Some places just won't accept it.

I remember one time I was in Chicago O'Hare airport and a guy was trying to pay at the bar with his credit card, which was a special edition card with an F1 racing car on it and a photo of the driver. The woman at the bar wouldn't accept his credit card as the customer didn't look like the guy in the photo.

It's not even original the Egg card looks the same.

    LoL only in america.

that credit card is only for students and they don't work in some atms because of their weird shape

    To Quote from AIB website
"The AIB mc² Card has a funky new design and is first to the Irish market. Some ATMs, vending machines and POS devices may not have the technology to accept this Card and may reject or retain it. This includes some cinema, train and car park ticketing machines."

I dont think i fancy that much....

I'm amazed anybody would choose a credit card based on the way it looks. I mean, it spends 99% of it's life in an animal hide.

Still, you are AIB's wet-dream of a customer!

Just goes to show there is always someone who thinks something like this is "cool". I personally turned my credit card into an octagon. You would be surprised how much more sex I get now. Defintely more effective than just rounded corners*

*Parts of the above statement may not be true

    LoL only in america.

Most credit cards in the states have the owners face on them as a security measure.

AN ex-girlfriend of mine was getting her first car.

I asked her "Ooh what type of car are you getting."

    "A red one"

AIB's "Attacked by Sissors" Credit Card
When I read that I had an image of a credit card with a dotted line down the middle of it indicating where you should cut it up. But alas, this is not the case :(

There are no "cool" credit cards though. They're generally a bad idea, except if you keep spending to a minimum and clear your balance each month. But how many people actually do that?

Choose a credit card that offers a low interest rate, or zero interest on purchases for a time, then change to another one. None of this will be important if you clear the balance each month, but just in case. Choosing a card because it looks nice is just plain daft.

the "cool" missing corner is great on the credit card, until you put it into one of the train ticket machines in Paris and it gets stuck!!!

    Hey Guys,

I wanna get myself a Mastercard but not just any credit card, as sad as it may be i wanna get the new cool looking Mastercard that AIB are doing.
The problem is that i'm not a student and as far as i can see they only get issued on Student accounts. So my really quick question is:

Is there any non-students on here who has a cool shaped Mastercard?

    The look like this: http://www.aib.ie/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=AIB_PersonalPortal%2FAIB_Services%2Faib_d_service&c=AIB_Services&cid=1004321421124&channel=YM
