I like it. for first stab that's v good IMO. Exposure seems spot on to capture the water movement without overexposing the surrounds..sharp focusing..well done.

Was gonna say the same thing.

Very well exposed for a longish exposure in bright light like.

    Well done.

Very well exposed but leaves me wondering regarding the composure. It doesn't say anything. Think about what you want to capture before you take the image.

I'd have used a lower ISO - 100 preferably - which would allow you to use a slower shutter speed thus accentuating the water flow effect. The clump of grass in the lower right corner is over-exposed and should be darkened a little. The composition isn't great but I would still have cropped it a bit. All in all though, a very creditable effort. The file size you posted is too big at 979k. Try to keep posted images under 150k. See attached my version incorporating some of the above suggestions.

The photo does seem quite crowded and cluttered, but perhaps that's a nice/cleaver contrast to the smooth and sleek cloudy water.

I don't love the photo, nor do I particularly dislike it, I'm taking a middle ground.

Moreover, it does have decent photographic merit and shows a good level of technical competence. For me, those factors alone make this photo a success. Good Job!

    Keep experimenting, and Keep Posting.

thanks, the photo was mainly a test to see what i can do technically, and i took the river/reeds route to see how it all comes out, detail on reeds/blur on water, turned out to be the best i took
