hey all.. i have the very first creative zen..you know the one the big chunk of metal thats as heavy as a severed head... anyway lately its been goin all wierd and if it was moved in a certain way alot of the frequencies cut off so you could only hear a garbled guitar at best..it i gave it a little smack and it was grand again...but im just after droppin it and it seems to be permanently messed up as described earlier...

im guessing its a messed up hard drive needle coz ive had huge hard drive problems...its a common problem with these zens that the needle gets stuck and the only way to fix it is to smack it or drop it off the ground this is IN the manual... thought that was kind of odd...anyway that used to happen ALOT so im guessing after all the smacking and dropping that its decided to give up...

    what do ye think?

    thanks
    Sven

It's hard to tell without actually hearing what it's like but if theres certain frequencies missing could it be the headphone jack? Id immagine that if it was actually having problems reading from the hard drive then the sound would be cutting in and out.
