so i figured taking time off from study to go play the 30e game in the fitz was a good idea. i've read many places that you shouldn't play poker while distracted or tired or both! there is reasons for this i can now attest! so i sat down and pretty much let people dictate the pace of the game to me, which i dont like. i won a decent sized pot with a Q high flush early on so i had chips, with which i just threw them away into any pot, playing hands like king five suited from late position after a raise thinking 'sure i'll see a flop here!' bad bad bad.... even after the break i started to do things like thinking about raising for a while and then flat calling, and then i'm surprised when someone senses my weakness and raises.. anyway, blinds got up to 500/1000 and i only had 8k infront of me, got dealt 88 and early position raised to 3k and i pushed, he called with 99 and home i went... usually i'd have flat called here knowing that im gonna push regardless of the flop, a stop and go! the flop was J high so i think my post flop bet of 5k would have pushed him off the pot. i didnt think through any of my bets or anything... first time in a number of months that i can say i have played bad poker... (i became an Ace-rag merchent! my apologies!)

this does not bode well for the team event! in conclusion, never play when tired or distracted!! thus concludes my rant!

    Sure sign of weakness Jeff;)

Good of you to deal for the table through it though. Your lucky friend Lloyd knocked me out on the bubble. His 4s held up against my A9!.

lloyd is a jammy b@$tard isnt he. ;)

He loves the low pocket pairs, is always willing to go all in on them.

Decent guy though. He's gonna be representing DIT in the Vegas nights team event.

Yeah!. Shorthanded(4 players) he made a big 'i dont want a call here' bet. I figured i could have had a better kicker than him and went over the top to get him to fold if he'd KQ or small pair if thats what he had but it didnt work. Is he a mature student cause he looks like he needs to shave 2 times a day!?.

Sporting Emporium a few days earlier he called an all in with 55 and was up against 88 and 99 and hit not one but two 5's!. 'Lucky Lloyd'!!

yea he played in the 300fo and went out with pocket 5s. He just likes to play with a big stack (sure don't we all) and if he gets a big stack he is very hard to play against i have been told. He has had a couple of big money finishs

:D its such a sign of weakness! Rounders are you the guy who was moved to my table who so kindly pointed out my poor play! :D thought i reckognised you from the SE..

i got a full report from lloyd, he went out in 4th when JJ held up against his AQ... but to be fair to him he did admit that given the amount of 50-50's he had come out on top of he was due to lose one.

i have an exam in 9hrs....
