Freeview box in distress!

    There's a funny side and a serious side to this story.

    In short, a Freeview box in the UK somehow managed to send a signal which happened to be the same as a distress signal used by ships or planes and had the RAF looking for someone in distress. It's not supposed to be able to send signals, but it did. And there is the added coincidence of it sending the speciic distress signal on the major emergency frequency. Ofcom are examing the box.

    Wow, that is indeed a rare occurance! I hope Ofcom gave the customer a replacement box after taking away his! :)
