My aunty just got a new pc with xp home edition. she has aload of emails on her old machine that she wants to copy over to her new one. whats the easiest way of doing this? is networking the 2 machines as easy as networking to XP machines together. will they both see each other? any other way? there's no internet connection yet.

There are a few options beside networking, Does the 98 machine have a cd burner or do you have drivers for your memory key for windows 98?.
As for backing up the mails themself what is she using to recieve mail (Outlook express, Outlook etc)

yeah i think she's using outlook express, and if so i can just use 'files and settings trasfer wizard' can't i?? nah it dosn't have a cd burner, god that would make it so much easier!

You will need crossed cable, and as far as i remember files and settings transfer wizzard will grab the mail
