hey, just wondering if anybody has any tips for very bad pms. now the thing is i discussed this with my doctor, and ive started a new pill which has really helped, but i do still suffer from VERY bad pms. i crave food so much, its unreal. i also cry so easily. i know it sounds easy to dismiss but its really quite bad. i would love to hear any ideas people have? have people found evening primrose to be good?

How did he prove Darwin right?

I hear Evening Primrose Oil helps, and also Vitamin B6. You can get them both in supplements. Also light exercise really does help withy cramps and lifts your mood.

ROFL! wtf man? Re-read the op with PMs (private messages) in mind...how does that make any sense to you? Next time, if you don't understand the thread, wait untill you figure it out from peoples replys, before considering commenting...or you could just keep coming out with gems like that!!

OP what age are you? There are loads of sites with natural & herbal treatments etc. for those sympthoms...did your doc not put you on HRT? Eventually it should balance you out, and you'll stop crying etc. etc. ... as for the food cravings, eat loads of fruit & veg and stuff that wont wont make you baloon up, and drink lots of water!

Eh... she's not talking about menopause! She's talking about pre-menstrual stress. They're rather different things.

Yes, Evening Primrose Oil can help *some* symptoms of PMS. There is no overnight/instant relief though! You may have to take it for a few months. Also taking soy products is helpful - you may wish to use soy milk on your cereal in the mornings instead of cows milk, or instead you may want to eat tofu/soybeans etc. instead.

There are a LOT of good books out there, if I were you I would pop down to the local library and read through some of them for a half an hour. Most of them will give you the same general message though: take daily exercise, eat foods that are better for you (cutting down on sugar especially), increase soy intake and perhaps take a supplement.

Totally know how you feel-i can totally cry at the drop of a button when i have pms.Pms manifests in different ways with some people they get emotional pains and others get sorta mental ones-crying etc.Last year I got my blood heameglobin levels tested and found out it was pretty mega low and this was causing me to have the mad pms, since ive been taking iron supplements, galfer, my mood has improved no end around my time of the month and im a different person because of it!

Ask your GP to do a load of blood tests for hormone levels and find out what is higher etc.. then you could consider treating it naturally with something like Agnus Castus or Saw Palmetto depending on whether you are lacking in oestrogen/progesterone.

I know exactly how you feel, I am always in bits but then I have further complications (lucky me)... If you find that maybe you dont get any relief, consider asking your GP for a referral maybe, there might be something more going on.. most likely not but worth a try.

    Good luck with it.
